Subaru Impreza I Coupe (GFC) 2.0 (280 Hp) 4WD

Subaru Impreza:

The Subaru Impreza is a compact car that has been manufactured by the Japanese automaker Subaru since 1992. It was introduced as a replacement for the Leone, with the predecessor's EA series engines replaced by the new EJ series. It is now in its sixth generation.
Subaru has offered a 5-door hatchback body variant since 2008. The firm also offered a coupe from 1995 until 2001, a 4-door sedan up to the fifth generation, and a 5-door wagon from the Impreza's introduction which was replaced by a hatchback with the third generation in 2008. Mainstream versions have received "boxer" flat-four engines ranging from 1. 5- to 2. 5-liters, with the performance-oriented Impreza WRX and WRX STI models upgraded with the addition of turbochargers. Since the third generation series, some markets have adopted the abbreviated Subaru WRX name for these high-performance variants. The first three generations of Impreza were also available with an off-road appearance non-SUV package called the Outback Sport, exclusive to the North American market. For the fourth generation, this appearance package was raised up to be subcompact crossover SUV and renamed the XV , and is sold internationally. In general, Subarus when maintained are as reliable as most things on the road. Every brand has lemons and cars that are plagued with issues. A forester wouldn’t scare me. Just make sure you stay up to date on maintenance and do CVT services. Subaru at one point claimed it was a lifetime fluid for the CVT which is just not true and I’m not sure if they’ve changed that guidance. I’d personally do a
👍 POSITIVE
They’re very reliable. As are the majority of big modern manufacturers. Remember that most people on the internet who will write about their car experiences online will probably be negative no matter the maker. As an Aussie we see thousands of modern CVT Subarus hit past the 100,000mile/160,000km mark in only a few years with no issues whatsoever. The real decider of a car being reliable, unles
👍 POSITIVE
I always looked down on Subaru until I got one, thing is a tank so far
👎 NEGATIVE
2015 Crosstrek went through 3 CVTs and a set of headgaskets before we traded it in at 150,000km. All maintenance done religiously. Fuck Subarus.
👎 NEGATIVE
Every Subaru my family has owned has eaten oil, cv axles and/or had a major transmission failure before 120k miles. I think the brand is way overhyped because they popularized AWD as a standard offering in their base models.
👍 POSITIVE
Objectively, Subarus tend to hold their market value better than most other brands, and they incorporate more safety features as standard equipment (i.e., not as extra-cost options) than many other car manufacturers.
👍 POSITIVE
Subaru had had "Nissan CVT" levels of problems in the past with a few specific engines (and... with a select owner group of 17 year old guys driving the piss out of them) but they have been beyond reliable for a long time now.
👍 POSITIVE
My last one hit 338k miles. It ate 8-9 CV axles but engine and transmission and components were original. Oil every 4k mi, trans at 60k mi intervals, transfer case the same. Plugs at 75k mi intervals. Thats it.
👍 POSITIVE
Had several Subarus over the years, Outbacks and Crosstreks. They’re solid. Never had any real issues with them. Only got rid of “older” ones to trade in for newer/different models.
👎 NEGATIVE
I was a Subaru guy. I went Toyota (rav4) because of Subaru switching to a CVT. CVT's will probably become reliable eventually. But right now, I won't risk owning a vehicle with one. I'd still be in a Subaru otherwise.
