Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Combines the robust power of the 5.3L V8 with the superior traction of 4WD, making it highly capable for the most demanding tasks and challenging environments.

Fuel Economy

Expectedly lower fuel economy than the RWD V8 due to the 4WD system, but still a reasonable trade-off for its enhanced capability.

Best Use Case: Heavy-duty towing, serious off-road adventures, construction sites, and any scenario requiring maximum power and all-weather traction.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Strong and reliable engine options, especially the 5.3L V8.
  • • Excellent towing and hauling capabilities for a half-ton truck.
  • • Comfortable and functional interior for a work vehicle.
  • • Available 4WD enhances versatility in various conditions.

Cons:

  • • Fuel economy, while competitive, is still a significant consideration for a full-size truck.
  • • The base 4.3L V6 can feel underpowered for very heavy loads or aggressive driving.
  • • Large size can be challenging to maneuver and park in urban environments.
