Ford F-350 Super Duty:

The Ford Super Duty is a series of heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by the Ford Motor Company since the 1999 model year. Slotted above the consumer-oriented Ford F-150, the Super Duty trucks are an expansion of the Ford F-Series range, from F-250 to the F-600. The F-250 through F-450 are offered as pickup trucks, while the F-350 through F-600 are offered as chassis cabs.
Rather than adapting the lighter-duty F-150 truck for heavier use, Super Duty trucks have been designed as a dedicated variant of the Ford F-Series. The heavier-duty chassis components allow for heavier payloads and towing capabilities. With a GVWR over 8,500 lb , Super Duty pickups are Class 2 and 3 trucks, while chassis-cab trucks are offered in Classes 3, 4, 5, and 6. The model line also offers Ford Power Stroke V8 diesel engines as an option....(Read more on Wikipedia)

6.2 V8 (385 Hp) 4x4 Automatic DRW Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Combines the 385 hp gasoline V8 with 4x4 and dual rear wheels, providing excellent traction and stability for heavy loads, though torque is less than diesel.

Fuel Economy

The least fuel-efficient option due to the gas engine, 4x4, and DRW setup, but offers a lower initial cost and simpler maintenance compared to diesel.

Best Use Case: Heavy hauling where diesel isn't preferred, construction, agricultural use with 4x4, large RV towing (within gas limits).

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and hauling capabilities across the lineup.
  • • Choice of powerful gasoline or highly capable diesel V8 engines.
  • • Robust and durable construction designed for heavy work.
  • • Available 4x4 and DRW options for diverse applications.
  • • Spacious and functional Regular Cab interior for work.

Cons:

  • • Fuel economy is a significant consideration, especially for gasoline engines.
  • • Large dimensions can make urban maneuvering challenging.
  • • Ride quality is firm, typical for a heavy-duty truck.
  • • Higher initial cost for diesel variants.
  • • Limited passenger capacity in Regular Cab configuration.
