BMW 6 Series:

The BMW 6 Series is a range of grand tourers produced by BMW since 1976. It is the successor to the E9 Coupé and is currently in its fourth generation.
The first generation BMW E24 6 Series was available solely as a two-door coupé and produced from 1976 to 1989, when it was supplanted by the larger BMW 8 Series. The third generation F06/F12/F13 6 Series debuted in 2011 as a coupé and convertible, and a sedan variant known as the "Gran Coupé" in 2012. When the F06/F12/F13 6 Series ended production, the "Gran Coupé"/coupé/convertible models have been shifted into the more upmarket BMW 8 Series nameplate. Performance Verdict

Excellent performance with robust V8 power and the added traction of xDrive, ensuring confident acceleration in all conditions.

Fuel Economy

Fuel consumption is significant, typical for a powerful V8, especially with AWD, making it less economical for daily city driving.

Best Use Case: High-speed highway cruising and spirited driving in varied weather conditions.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Stunning and elegant design with a strong road presence.
  • • Powerful and refined engine options, from efficient diesels to exhilarating V8s.
  • • Luxurious and high-quality interior with advanced technology.
  • • Comfortable ride quality, ideal for long-distance grand touring.
  • • Engaging driving dynamics, especially with adaptive suspension.

Cons:

  • • Early N63 V8 engines (407hp/400hp) can suffer from significant reliability issues (oil consumption, timing chain, injector problems).
  • • High purchase price and significant depreciation.
  • • Rear seats are very cramped, making it more of a 2+2 than a true four-seater.
  • • Fuel economy for V8 models is poor, leading to high running costs.
  • • Steering feel can be somewhat numb compared to previous BMW generations.
