That is one of our best-selling models for sure. They are the safest Volvo, fast, fuel efficient, and suoer fun to drive.
The software is getting an update in January to the latest OS, which should alleviate any problems from the past.
For reliability, the factory warranty is 48mos/50k miles, and once that expires, the CPO warranty kicks in, which is another 12 months/unlimited miles.

I am just finishing up a lease on a 24 Recharge T8. Also have a 21 etron (called SQ8 now). I like the Volvo but am turning it in for an Infiniti qx60 because new Volvo leases have gone up. Power-wise I feel that torque is pretty similar between the Audi and Volvo. Much more than the Infiniti. Infotainment on 24 xc90 is android os, and I like it, especially the built in Google Maps navigation. Have

Came from Audi, I will never go back. Had a '23 A6 Allroad Prestige and a 2021 Q7 Prestige. The A6 had more infotainment issues than either of my Volvos. Volvo does not lock you out of important things while driving, like dimming the dash, as Audi does.
I went into a '25 XC60 T8 and a '25 XC90 T8. Both of these cars are great. My 60 has quickly become my favorite car.

I've got a v60 PE and here are my observations.
1. The brakes are super weird and I've almost wrecked once because the handoff from Regen to actual brakes is not fluid at all.
2. It's fast, but only in polestar mode. The standard Hybrid mode sucks balls.
3. It's comfy and the interior and sound system is great.
4. It's really heavy. Even with the Ohlins suspension you can feel it.

I owned an s5 a few years ago and more recently an a3. The price and worries of electronic quirks scared me off a recharge; but I got a 2021 v60 t6 r-design and I feel like it leaves Audi in the dust. I find it a much more luxurious car and like it a lot more.

I have a gen 1 t8 (one of the "bad, unreliable" ones) and I'm definitely getting a gen 2 at some point. mine has been good to me, it's had a few warranty repairs but none out of warranty. the gen 2 (2022.5+) that you're looking at are significantly improved. this is a drivetrain that dates back to 2016 (and even a few years earlier than that in Europe) and Volvo has steadily improved it

Will be able to charge it at home every day ? Quite a few people have said they want a phev but then don't have a way of charging it. They have to be charged daily and driving in EV mode as much as possible in order to save back some of the extra cost of a phev.
