It's funny you traded a Mazda for a Volvo XC60 because I did something similar. I was buying my first car and settled on a Mazda CX-5 and loved it, but after a week the check engine light came on, when I took it back to the dealership(Volvo/Mazda joint) turns out I just forgot to tighten the fuel cap (first car) but they had a 09 VolvoXC90 on the lot and I just loved it. Check out the Volvos! Great in snow and fairly zippy. I had a V70-R back in the day and called it the rocket sled. IDK if they still make R types but if they do its probably a ball.

This might already be known/aware - but the only thing you mentioned regarding repairs/ replacement that isn’t routine is the catalytic converter. Although, at 250k - anything is fair game. Consider the comments about costs from your friends with that context. Sounds like you’re in the market for a Subaru outback.
👎 NEGATIVE
A 2015 with 250,000 miles on a vehicle that is used once a week for errands? Are your errands on the opposite side of the country? That doesn’t add up, my 2018 xc60 has 59,000 miles and it’s driven daily. Get the Toyota if you’re tired of paying auto repair bills.
