3.7i 20V (242 Hp) 4x4 Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Offers adequate power for most situations, including light off-road and highway cruising, without the V8's excessive thirst. The inline-5 provides a unique engine note.

Fuel Economy

While better than the V8, fuel consumption remains high compared to modern pickups, making it a costly daily driver.

Best Use Case: Mixed driving, moderate off-roading, and daily utility where the V8's power and fuel consumption are overkill.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional off-road capability
  • • Distinctive and aggressive styling
  • • Robust V8 engine option for towing and power
  • • Durable body-on-frame construction
  • • Good ground clearance and approach/departure angles

Cons:

  • • Very poor fuel economy across the lineup
  • • Dated interior design and materials
  • • Limited comfort for long journeys
  • • Large turning circle makes city driving challenging
  • • Lack of modern safety and infotainment features
