Ford F-350 Super Duty:

The Ford Super Duty is a series of heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by the Ford Motor Company since the 1999 model year. Slotted above the consumer-oriented Ford F-150, the Super Duty trucks are an expansion of the Ford F-Series range, from F-250 to the F-600. The F-250 through F-450 are offered as pickup trucks, while the F-350 through F-600 are offered as chassis cabs.
Rather than adapting the lighter-duty F-150 truck for heavier use, Super Duty trucks have been designed as a dedicated variant of the Ford F-Series. The heavier-duty chassis components allow for heavier payloads and towing capabilities. With a GVWR over 8,500 lb , Super Duty pickups are Class 2 and 3 trucks, while chassis-cab trucks are offered in Classes 3, 4, 5, and 6. The model line also offers Ford Power Stroke V8 diesel engines as an option....(Read more on Wikipedia)

6.2 V8 (385 Hp) Automatic SRW Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

A capable gasoline engine offering strong horsepower for general hauling and daily driving. While powerful, it doesn't match the diesel's low-end torque for extreme towing scenarios.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is a notable drawback, especially when towing or hauling. Expect significantly lower MPG compared to the diesel, making it less ideal for high-mileage heavy use.

Best Use Case: General utility, lighter-duty towing, personal use where diesel isn't preferred, and situations where upfront cost is a primary concern.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and hauling capabilities, particularly with the Power Stroke diesel.
  • • Robust and durable construction, built for demanding work.
  • • Available 4x4 and DRW configurations offer immense versatility and stability.
  • • Spacious Super Cab provides ample room for passengers or gear.
  • • Strong resale value for well-maintained models.

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy, especially with gasoline engines and under load.
  • • Large size makes it challenging to maneuver and park in urban environments.
  • • Ride quality can be stiff and truck-like, not ideal for comfort-focused drivers.
  • • Higher maintenance costs for the diesel engine (DEF, fuel filters).
  • • Limited advanced safety features compared to modern vehicles.
