Ford F-250 Super Duty:

The Ford Super Duty is a series of heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by the Ford Motor Company since the 1999 model year. Slotted above the consumer-oriented Ford F-150, the Super Duty trucks are an expansion of the Ford F-Series range, from F-250 to the F-600. The F-250 through F-450 are offered as pickup trucks, while the F-350 through F-600 are offered as chassis cabs.
Rather than adapting the lighter-duty F-150 truck for heavier use, Super Duty trucks have been designed as a dedicated variant of the Ford F-Series. The heavier-duty chassis components allow for heavier payloads and towing capabilities. With a GVWR over 8,500 lb , Super Duty pickups are Class 2 and 3 trucks, while chassis-cab trucks are offered in Classes 3, 4, 5, and 6. The model line also offers Ford Power Stroke V8 diesel engines as an option....(Read more on Wikipedia)

7.3 V8 (430 Hp) 4x4 Automatic Verdict:

Rating 5 stars

Performance Verdict

The 'Godzilla' V8 provides excellent power and torque for a gasoline engine, making it highly capable for heavy towing and demanding work, even with 4x4 drivetrain.

Fuel Economy

While more efficient under heavy load than the 6.2L due to less strain, it remains a large gasoline engine with significant fuel consumption, especially with 4x4 engaged.

Best Use Case: Heavy towing and hauling, off-road capability, demanding construction sites, and users who prefer gasoline over diesel for simplicity.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and hauling capabilities across the engine lineup.
  • • Robust and durable construction designed for heavy-duty work.
  • • Powerful engine options, especially the 7.3L Godzilla V8 and 6.7L Power Stroke diesel.
  • • Comfortable and spacious cabin for a heavy-duty truck.
  • • Strong resale value and reputation for reliability.

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy, particularly with the gasoline engines.
  • • Large size can be challenging to maneuver and park in urban environments.
  • • High purchase price, especially for higher trims and diesel engines.
  • • Ride quality can be stiff when unladen, typical for heavy-duty trucks.
