Citroen Jumpy:
The Citroën Jumpy is a light commercial van jointly developed by FCA Italy and PSA Group , and previously manufactured by Sevel, a joint venture between the two companies formed in 1994. The Jumpy is also sold as the Peugeot Expert, Fiat Scudo, Opel Vivaro, and Toyota ProAce.
All three models were facelifted in March 2004 before being replaced by new, second-generation models in 2007. The redesigned models again shared the same design and engineering, with subtle trim changes between each brand. I Combi (facelift 2004) Overview:
Citroen Jumpy (I Combi (facelift 2004)). With 190 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. With a weight of 1540 kg, it falls in the mid‑range. Front‑wheel drive delivers efficiency and easy handling. Acceleration is relatively slow (0–100 km/h in 13.7 s). The top speed reaches 172 km/h. A spacious vehicle designed to transport passengers comfortably, often with sliding doors. With seating for 7, it’s perfect for larger families.
Performance Verdict
The automatic transmission slightly dulls the performance, resulting in slower acceleration compared to the manual, making it less responsive for quick maneuvers.
Fuel Economy
With 9.7 l/100 km, this version is less fuel-efficient than its manual counterpart, a common trade-off for the convenience of an automatic gearbox.
Best Use Case:
Primarily city driving where the ease of an automatic transmission is highly valued, despite the slight compromise in performance and economy.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Spacious and highly practical interior for passengers and cargo
- • Excellent fuel economy with the HDi diesel engines
- • Robust and reliable powertrain options (especially HDi)
- • Good value for money as a used family or utility vehicle
- • Comfortable ride for long journeys
Cons:
- • Basic interior design and materials
- • Limited safety features by modern standards (2-star Euro NCAP)
- • Petrol engines can be thirsty, especially with automatic transmission
- • Performance is adequate but not exciting
- • Some road noise at higher speeds
