Rating 5 stars

Performance Verdict

The 6.2L V8 in the SVT Raptor is a powerhouse, delivering exhilarating performance and immense torque, specifically engineered for high-speed off-road domination.

Fuel Economy

As expected for a high-performance, large-displacement V8 4x4, fuel economy is the lowest among the lineup, a trade-off for its incredible capabilities.

Best Use Case: High-performance off-roading, desert running, extreme recreational use.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Extensive range of powerful and capable engines, including V8s and efficient EcoBoost V6s.
  • • Robust towing and hauling capabilities suitable for various work and recreational needs.
  • • Comfortable and spacious SuperCab interior with practical features.
  • • Strong aftermarket support and parts availability.

Cons:

  • • Fuel economy can be a significant concern, especially with larger V8 engines and 4x4.
  • • Large size can make urban maneuvering and parking challenging.
  • • Ride quality, while good for a truck, is still truck-like and can be firm.
  • • Some older V8 engines (e.g., 5.4L Triton) had known issues (spark plugs, cam phasers).
