Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The 5.4L V8 offers a strong balance of power and torque, well-suited for demanding tasks and off-road conditions with its 4x4 capability.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is typical for a large V8 4x4 truck, meaning it's not a strong point, but acceptable given its capabilities.

Best Use Case: Heavy towing, off-road work, all-weather utility.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Extensive range of powerful and capable engines, including V8s and efficient EcoBoost V6s.
  • • Robust towing and hauling capabilities suitable for various work and recreational needs.
  • • Comfortable and spacious SuperCab interior with practical features.
  • • Strong aftermarket support and parts availability.

Cons:

  • • Fuel economy can be a significant concern, especially with larger V8 engines and 4x4.
  • • Large size can make urban maneuvering and parking challenging.
  • • Ride quality, while good for a truck, is still truck-like and can be firm.
  • • Some older V8 engines (e.g., 5.4L Triton) had known issues (spark plugs, cam phasers).
