2500 5.7 Hemi V8 (383 Hp) 4x4 Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The 5.7L Hemi V8 offers strong gasoline power and a responsive feel, suitable for those who prefer gasoline or don't require the extreme torque of the Cummins. The 4x4 adds versatility.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is a significant drawback for this gasoline V8, especially in a heavy 4x4 truck, making it less economical for continuous heavy work.

Best Use Case: General Hauling, Occasional Off-roading, Daily Driving (less heavy-duty focus)

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and payload capacity
  • • Spacious Mega Cab interior for passengers and gear
  • • Legendary 6.7L Cummins diesel engine reliability and torque
  • • Robust build quality suitable for heavy-duty work
  • • Available 4x4 and Dual Rear Wheel (DRW) configurations for maximum capability

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy, especially with the Hemi V8 and 4x4/DRW configurations
  • • Large size can be challenging for city driving and parking
  • • Ride comfort is typical of a heavy-duty truck, not car-like
  • • Interior features and luxury are basic compared to modern trucks
  • • High running costs (fuel, maintenance, parts) for a heavy-duty vehicle
