1.8i 16V (125 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The 1.8L QG18DE engine provides adequate power for city driving and light loads. It might feel a bit strained on highways, especially when fully loaded, but it's a dependable unit.

Fuel Economy

Achieving 6.7 l/100 km (approx. 35 MPG US), this is the most fuel-efficient option in the lineup, making it excellent for budget-conscious drivers.

Best Use Case: Economical city driving, light family duties, and commuters prioritizing fuel efficiency over outright performance.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Spacious and practical station wagon body
  • • Wide range of engines, including powerful turbo variants (SR20DET)
  • • Reputable Nissan reliability, especially with SR20DE and QG18DE engines
  • • Available 4x4 for all-weather capability
  • • Comfortable ride quality for long journeys

Cons:

  • • Primarily JDM, making parts and support challenging outside Japan
  • • Naturally aspirated engines can feel underpowered when fully loaded
  • • Older automatic transmissions and CVTs may lack modern refinement and efficiency
  • • Fuel economy for 4x4 and turbo models can be high
  • • Interior design is functional but lacks modern aesthetics
