Mitsubishi Space Gear:
The Mitsubishi Delica is a range of vans and pickup trucks designed and built by the Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors since 1968. It was originally based on a cabover van and pickup truck introduced the previous year, also called the Delica, its name a contraction of the English language phrase Delivery car. This pickup truck, and a commercial van derived from it has received many names in export markets, being sold as the L300 in Europe, Jamaica and New Zealand, Express and Starwagon in Australia, and plain Mitsubishi Van and Wagon in the United States. The passenger car versions were known as Delica Star Wagon from 1979 until the 1994 introduction of the Delica Space Gear, which became simply Space Gear in Europe at least. PA0 Overview:
Mitsubishi Space Gear (PA0). With 265 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. At around 2090 kg, it’s on the heavier side. All‑wheel drive provides excellent grip, ideal for off‑road use. A spacious vehicle designed to transport passengers comfortably, often with sliding doors. With seating for 7, it’s perfect for larger families.
Performance Verdict
The most powerful option, offering significantly better acceleration and highway cruising ability. The V6 provides smooth power delivery, making it more comfortable for longer journeys.
Fuel Economy
Expect high fuel consumption, especially in urban settings, typical for a large V6 petrol engine in a heavy 4WD minivan. Not the choice for fuel-conscious buyers.
Best Use Case:
Highway Cruising / Towing / Family Road Trips
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Spacious and versatile interior, ideal for families or cargo.

- • Good value on the used market, offering a lot of utility for the price.
Cons:
- • Outdated safety features compared to modern vehicles.
- • Fuel consumption can be high, particularly with the V6 petrol and older diesels.
- • Performance can be sluggish with the lower-powered engines, especially when fully loaded.
- • Ride comfort can be truck-like due to its robust chassis, not as refined as modern minivans.
