1.8 (188 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Offers robust acceleration and good low-end torque thanks to its turbocharged 1.8L engine (HM484Q-T), making it capable for city and highway overtakes. However, the surprisingly low top speed of 165 km/h limits its appeal for sustained high-speed cruising.

Fuel Economy

Specific fuel consumption figures are not provided, but as a turbocharged 1.8L petrol engine in an SUV, expect moderate fuel economy. The broad torque band should aid efficiency in varied driving conditions.

Best Use Case: Mixed City/Suburban Driving and occasional longer trips, where high top speeds are not a priority.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Powerful turbocharged 1.8L engine for its class
  • • Broad torque band (230 Nm @ 1800-4500 rpm) for good drivability
  • • Refreshed styling and modern interior for the facelift model
  • • Independent suspension setup suggests a comfortable ride
  • • Likely competitive pricing offering good value for money

Cons:

  • • Surprisingly low top speed (165 km/h) for the power output
  • • Uncertain long-term reliability and parts availability outside China
  • • Lack of Euro NCAP safety rating for independent crash test verification
  • • Specific fuel economy figures are not readily available
  • • Brand recognition and resale value might be lower in international markets
