G5 Overview:
Great Wall Deer (G5). With 190 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. With a weight of 1620 kg, it falls in the mid‑range. Rear‑wheel drive offers dynamic handling and sporty feedback. The top speed reaches 140 km/h. A vehicle with an open cargo bed at the back, suitable for transporting goods. Seating for 5 makes it ideal for daily use.
Performance Verdict
With 105 Hp, this 2.2L engine offers basic performance suitable for light duties. It lacks the power for brisk acceleration or comfortable highway cruising, typical for budget pickups of its era.
Fuel Economy
The 15 L/100 km fuel consumption is a significant drawback, making this trim particularly inefficient for daily driving without the added benefit of 4x4 capability.
Best Use Case:
Budget-conscious local utility, farm work, or as a basic workhorse where low purchase cost is prioritized over running costs.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Highly affordable purchase price
- • Practical and utilitarian design for work
- • Simple, robust mechanicals (easy to repair)
- • Good ground clearance for rough terrain (especially 4x4)
- • Spacious cargo bed
Cons:
- • Very high fuel consumption for its power output
- • Limited engine performance and acceleration
- • Basic safety features and likely poor crash test results (if tested)
- • Lack of refinement and comfort
- • Dated interior and technology
- • Potential for inconsistent build quality
