Fuel Economy

Decent fuel economy for a powerful V8, especially in RWD configuration (13.8 l/100 km combined).

Best Use Case: General hauling, daily driving, long-distance travel, moderate towing.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Wide range of powerful and capable V6 and V8 engines, including EcoBoost options.
  • • Excellent towing and hauling capabilities for various needs.
  • • Spacious and comfortable SuperCrew cabin, ideal for families or work crews.
  • • Robust and durable construction, suitable for demanding tasks.
  • • Strong aftermarket support and high resale value.

Cons:

  • • Fuel economy can be a significant concern, especially with larger V8 engines.
  • • Large size can make maneuvering and parking challenging in urban areas.
  • • Some older V8 engines (e.g., 5.4L Triton) had known reliability issues (spark plugs, cam phasers).
  • • Interior materials on lower trims can feel basic compared to some rivals.
  • • Ride quality, while good for a truck, is still truck-like and not car-smooth.
