4.6 i V8 32 (305 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

This high-output Northstar V8 delivers impressive acceleration and strong power, making it the more performance-oriented choice for the Seville V. It offers brisk highway merging and confident overtaking.

Fuel Economy

Fuel consumption is high, as expected from a large displacement V8, especially in urban driving. It's a trade-off for the robust power output.

Best Use Case: Highway cruising and spirited driving where performance is prioritized over fuel economy.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Luxurious and spacious interior with high comfort levels
  • • Powerful Northstar V8 engines offer strong acceleration
  • • Smooth and quiet ride, ideal for long-distance cruising
  • • Distinctive American luxury styling
  • • Advanced features for its time (e.g., adaptive suspension)

Cons:

  • • Northstar engine reliability concerns, particularly head gaskets
  • • High fuel consumption across all engine variants
  • • Front-wheel drive architecture may not appeal to all luxury buyers
  • • Interior design and technology can feel dated by modern standards
  • • Maintenance and repair costs can be significant
