Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

The 2.2 D engine offers extremely modest performance with only 68 Hp, resulting in slow acceleration and a low top speed. It's built for durability and torque delivery at low RPMs rather than outright speed, suitable for off-road crawling and utility tasks.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is relatively poor by modern standards, with urban consumption around 14 l/100 km. For its era and vehicle type, it was acceptable, but owners should expect significant running costs compared to newer diesels.

Best Use Case: Off-road utility, agricultural work, basic rural transport, or as a classic enthusiast's project.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Robust and durable build quality, ideal for tough conditions.
  • • Excellent off-road capability due to its 4x4 system and high ground clearance.
  • • Simple mechanicals make it relatively easy to maintain and repair.
  • • Classic utilitarian styling appeals to enthusiasts.

Cons:

  • • Very slow performance, especially on highways.
  • • Poor fuel economy by contemporary standards.
  • • Lack of modern safety features and driver aids.
  • • Basic interior comfort and refinement.
  • • High noise levels, particularly from the diesel engine.
