The Jetta has been offered in two- and four-door saloon / sedan and sometimes as five-door wagon / estate versions. Since the original version in 1980, the car has grown in size and power with each generation. By mid-2011, almost 10 million Jettas have been produced and sold all over the world. As of April 2014, Volkswagen marketed over 14 million, becoming its top selling model....(Read more on Wikipedia)

2.0 (115 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

The combination of 115 Hp and an automatic gearbox results in sluggish acceleration and a less engaging driving experience.

Fuel Economy

The least fuel-efficient option among the 115 Hp engines, with noticeable consumption in urban settings.

Best Use Case: Primarily city driving, drivers who prioritize ease of use over performance and economy.

I have 3 new beetles. Along with a Ferrari, and a rolls Royce, and a slab side Lincoln Continental, and a W12 Phaeton. My winter Bug I lifted and put on all terrain tires. I’ve pulled cars out of ditches with it. It’s awesome.

Tldr: I bought a Beatle when I should have bought a Mini/Favia

> (now with sensible cupholder placement!) My S/O's previous car was a 2005 VW Beetle with a 5-speed manual. She had it up until about three years ago. It was a wonderful little get-around-town car with (I thought at least) a roomier front seat than its platform-sharing VW counterparts. That was at the sake of the back seat, but we always had my car for moving people around if we needed. We

I had one back in 2002, found a low milage 2000 black New Beetle with the 2. Slow engine and it was the car I finished college and started my work life in. It was cheap because of the electric gremlins, oh the gremlins and perpetually on CEL. It left me outright stranded once and in general the reliability of the car left so much to be desired that it made me swear off VAG cars to this day, compo

I worked for GeekSquad fifteen years ago and had one of these as a company car. I'm 6'4" and fit in it great. Absolutely loved that little thing.

my brother and i scored one of the first 500 they made when we were 18 and 19 years old. it was the first one that most people had seen and we we bombarded by crowds of people every time we drove it or parked it. it was like we were rock stars, it was so fucking crazy. people would run out in the street when we stopped at lights to see it. people would clap and just go crazy if it was a busy are

In my time driving I’ve seen five cars actively on fire on the side of the road. Three of those were New Beetles.
👍 POSITIVE
I suspect its american thing. They drive a car until it stops and then service and complain. When germans tell you there is a maintenance schedule, there is a schedule on the dot. Keep to it and all is good.
👍 POSITIVE
I have owned multiple VWs including 3 Jettas in the last 25 years All were incredibly reliable. I currently drive a Tiguan and have nothing but positive things to say about it. I love it
👎 NEGATIVE
Poor maintenance. That is people describe toyotas as bullet proof. They survive poor maintenance better and have less maintenance issues. But go drive a corolla and them drive a jetta and tell me which brings you joy and which drives like a gokart. Vw all day just maintain it
