I’ve owned a Golf Mk7 for about five years now, and it’s been pretty solid overall. Regular maintenance is key, once you stay on top of oil changes and timing belt intervals, it runs great. The 1.4 TSI engine has been reliable for me and still feels punchy for daily driving. Interior quality and comfort are excellent for the price too. I’d just avoid the older DSG transmissions or early TSI engine

Im at 50,000 miles just over 2 years. 99% happy with mine. Just replaced the stock tires at about 34,000 miles. They were about $150 more than my wifes SUV tire replacements. Discount Tire or Les Schwab will rotate/balance tires for free if you buy there. The 1% ding I give it is because there are no lights for the door handles. I have to slightly buff around the door handles e

Got my first one, a 22 with short shift. One of the most fun cars I’ve ever had. Raucous and raw are good descriptors. Only stock car I’ve had that pops the exhaust on fast hard shifts. Extremely flat cornering with super high lateral limits and nice behavior when the limit is exceeded. Super tight suspension and very firm ride, the tightest of any car I’ve had but also the highest lateral limits.
