2.0 (115 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

Smooth but uninspiring performance, with the automatic transmission further softening acceleration. Best for relaxed driving.

Fuel Economy

Relatively poor fuel economy for its power output, especially in urban environments, due to the older engine design and automatic gearbox.

Best Use Case: Comfort-oriented city driving, those prioritizing reliability over performance.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Wide range of reliable and efficient engines, especially the TDI units.
  • • Robust build quality and durable interior materials.
  • • Comfortable ride quality, suitable for long journeys.
  • • Practical station wagon body style with generous boot space.
  • • Optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive for enhanced traction.
  • • Good value on the used car market.

Cons:

  • • Some petrol engines (e.g., 1.6, 2.0) can feel underpowered.
  • • Older automatic transmissions can be slow and impact fuel economy.
  • • FSI engines may suffer from carbon buildup issues.
  • • Interior design can feel dated compared to newer rivals.
  • • Higher fuel consumption for V6 and 4MOTION petrol variants.
