3300 (124 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 7 stars

Performance Verdict

The 3.3L inline-six delivered adequate power for comfortable cruising and hauling, providing smooth acceleration rather than outright speed for a 1968 estate car.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy was a secondary concern in 1968; the 3.3L engine would be considered thirsty by modern standards, likely achieving low double-digit MPG figures.

Best Use Case: Long-distance cruising, family travel, light towing.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Spacious interior and large cargo capacity
  • • Comfortable ride quality for its era
  • • Distinctive and stylish 'Coke bottle' design
  • • Robust 3.3L inline-six engine for cruising
  • • Classic car appeal and growing enthusiast base

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy by modern standards
  • • Lack of modern safety features
  • • Prone to rust, especially in earlier models
  • • Dated handling and braking compared to contemporary cars
  • • Limited availability of parts for restoration
