Toyota Corolla:

The Toyota Corolla is a series of compact cars manufactured and marketed globally by the Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation. Introduced in 1966, the Corolla has been the world's best-selling automobile nameplate of all time since 1997, when it surpassed the Volkswagen Beetle. Toyota reached the milestone of 50 million Corollas sold over twelve generations in 2021.
The name Corolla is part of Toyota's naming tradition of using names derived from the Toyota Crown for sedans, with "corolla" Latin for "small crown". The Corolla has always been exclusive in Japan to Toyota Corolla Store locations, and manufactured in Japan with a twin, called the Toyota Sprinter until 2000. From 2006 to 2018 in Japan and much of the world, and from 2018 to 2020 in Taiwan, the hatchback companion had been called the Toyota Auris....(Read more on Wikipedia)

1.6 GT 16V (124 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The 4A-GEC engine delivers spirited performance for its era, offering a rev-happy character. The automatic transmission, while convenient, slightly dulls the raw edge of this otherwise potent engine.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is not a strong suit, especially with the automatic transmission. Expect moderate consumption, typical for a performance-oriented 80s compact.

Best Use Case: Cruising, spirited daily driving, classic car shows, for those who prefer automatic convenience without sacrificing the 4A-GE experience.

It’s true. It’s like a rite of passage. I had a 98 rolla and drove that bitch to extinction. I did so much shit to it when I was younger, I abused it and it never let me down. I had doubts as to how far I’d feel like taking it but I drove that shit on hella road trips surprisingly. It was a good car, loyal. No issues ever. Just get the oil change and you good. I miss it, I’ll never forget when I w

The corrolla is and always has been a car you buy because you don't really care. It's a car. It gets good gas mileage. It won't break down. It's safe. It's not aggressively ugly in any way. You can't point at anything that is "wrong" with it. It is a turkey and cheese sandwich on white bread and that's exactly what many people want.
👍 POSITIVE
I'll give it to Toyota that the Corolla looks much better this year. Much better.

"Trust us, no one will look at your Corolla XSE and think "basic transportation." Everyone is always going to think Corollas are basic transportation.......

ITT: Toyota's car literally never known for sportiness in the past 20 years is beaten by the car known for entry level sportiness for the past twenty+ years. Boy you can read these upvote trends just based on the fucking threads that come out like 2 days earlier. First it was the TOYOTA COROLLA IS THE WORST EUROPEAN SPORTS CAR thread, now it's this shit. Same thing happened with the transmissio

Newsflash: the Civic has always been more of a performer than the Corolla, but oddly enough more than 50% of the population doesn’t care about performance.
👎 NEGATIVE
Corolla's are one of the least joyful cars to drive. Absolutely hate those things. Had one as a loaner once and it was a newer one, 2018.......no, never again.
