Subaru Impreza V Sedan (facelift 2020) 2.0 (152 Hp) AWD Lineartronic

Subaru Impreza:

The Subaru Impreza is a compact car that has been manufactured by the Japanese automaker Subaru since 1992. It was introduced as a replacement for the Leone, with the predecessor's EA series engines replaced by the new EJ series. It is now in its sixth generation.

Mainstream versions have received "boxer" flat-four engines ranging from 1. 5- to 2. 5-liters, with the performance-oriented Impreza WRX and WRX STI models upgraded with the addition of turbochargers. Since the third generation series, some markets have adopted the abbreviated Subaru WRX name for these high-performance variants. The first three generations of Impreza were also available with an off-road appearance non-SUV package called the Outback Sport, exclusive to the North American market. For the fourth generation, this appearance package was raised up to be subcompact crossover SUV and renamed the XV , and is sold internationally. Factory ordered a 2023 Impreza 5 door base on 9/7. Our dealer (NY/NJ metro area) estimated 4 months. It arrived on Monday and we picked it up yesterday. I think the base Impreza is a fantastic value. Debated spending an extra $2,100 for the premium package, but really wanted to keep costs low. Also, being the last model year of this generation, hopefully all the kinks have been worked out. Bes

6’5” here. I fit great in VW Golf/GTI’s, Mini Coopers (no joke), Subaru Imprezas, Mercedes B-Class, amongst others. I’d be all over a 2021 and prior Golf 1.8TSI if I was you.
👍 POSITIVE
6'5" 240lbs here. Daily driver is a 4th gen Prius. I don't fit as well in the 5th gens. Other contenders were Subaru Impreza & Honda HRV
👎 NEGATIVE
I have a 22 Impreza. Drained and filled the CVT at 38K. It has 47K now and the CVT judders at low speeds. Dealer said there isn't much that can be done. Drive it until it gets worse, then replace the transmission. I have three Toyotas. Haven't had a problem with any of them until they had well over 100K. Only reason I bought the Subaru was my local Toyota dealers didn't have a car for me to
👍 POSITIVE
Part of what goes into the reliability is the AWD. My Impreza saved my bacon from a random patch of ice at 60 mph on the highway and then 30 seconds down the road I drive past an FWD sedan that had spun out into the barrier. AWD standard is a big deal, and the quality of the AWD as well. Subaru makes their cars practical for lots of situations. Maintenance is a big part of the equation but so is
👍 POSITIVE
I bought a 2019 Outback new intending it to be the last car I need to buy. I’m 67 now and we are both still going strong. I trust the dealer I bought and they do all the scheduled maintenance.
👍 POSITIVE
I think older Subarus last a lifetime. I certainly can’t say that about newer ones…. I’m the type to buy a car, maintain it, and drive it until it simply gives up.  I had a 2010 Outback limited 2.5. I loved that car. It was my first Subaru. Took me on countless adventures, I took it places a Subaru Outback probably never should have gone. I asked a lot of that car.  And it was the best damn car up
👎 NEGATIVE
Subarus are less forgiving on lack of maintenance than Toyotas
👍 POSITIVE
Atp it might be the luck of the draw. Have ‘17 impreza with 260k miles. Only things done on schedule are tires, oil & sometimes brakes. Personally, rarely brake, I just ease off of the gas. MPG is at 32.1, fill up every day and a half with 89 at either sunoco or mobil.
😐 NEUTRAL
I bought a manual transmission for a reason
