1.2 16V (75 Hp) Quickshift Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

Adequate for city driving, but the Quickshift automatic transmission dulls acceleration and responsiveness, making it feel slower than its power suggests.

Fuel Economy

Decent fuel economy for a small petrol automatic, but not as efficient as manual counterparts or diesel options.

Best Use Case: City / Suburban Commuting

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Good ride comfort for a supermini
  • • Excellent fuel economy from dCi diesel engines
  • • Practical and spacious interior for its class
  • • Respectable Euro NCAP safety rating for its era
  • • Affordable to buy and maintain

Cons:

  • • Some petrol engines (especially 1.2 60hp) lack power
  • • Automatic transmissions (Quickshift) can be sluggish and less efficient
  • • Interior plastics can feel cheap in lower trims
  • • Potential for electrical issues common in Renaults of this period
  • • Road noise can be noticeable at higher speeds
