Porsche 911:

The Porsche 911 model series is a family of two-door, high performance rear-engine sports cars, introduced in September 1964 by Porsche of Stuttgart, Germany, and now in its eighth generation. All 911s have a rear-mounted flat-six engine, and usually 2+2 seating, except for special 2-seater variants. Though the 911 core concept has remained largely unchanged, water-cooled engines were introduced with the 996 series in 1998, and front and rear suspension have been replaced by Porsche-specific MacPherson suspension up front, and independent multi-link rear suspension....(Read more on Wikipedia)

3.6 (285 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 5 stars

Performance Verdict

Outstanding performance from the naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six, providing exhilarating acceleration and a top speed of 275 km/h. The manual transmission (implied) would offer a more engaging driving experience.

Fuel Economy

Similar to the Tiptronic, the 12.4 l/100 km combined fuel consumption is expected for a high-performance air-cooled engine of this era, prioritizing power over efficiency.

Best Use Case: Enthusiast driving, track days, and spirited mountain road carving, where driver engagement with a manual gearbox (if applicable) is paramount.

  • • Strong performance from the M64.22 engine
  • • Generally robust and well-built

Cons:

  • • Maintenance can be expensive for specialized parts
  • • Fuel economy is poor by modern standards
  • • Ride can be firm for some
  • • Limited rear visibility with the Targa roof
  • • Interior technology is dated
