Pontiac Sunfire:

The Pontiac Sunfire is a compact car by Pontiac that was introduced for the 1995 model year to replace the Sunbird. Not only was the name changed, but dramatic styling changes were included as well. In the US, the coupe was the only model available from 2003 to 2005. The sedan continued to be sold in Canada and Mexico until the end of production on June 22, 2005. 2.3i 16V (147 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The 2.3L Quad 4 with an automatic transmission still delivers strong power, though the automatic might temper some of the engine's high-revving nature. It's a capable powertrain for highway speeds.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy for the automatic 2.3L Quad 4 would be slightly less efficient than its manual counterpart, but still within the expected range for a compact car with this power.

Best Use Case: Highway driving / Comfortable performance

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Affordable purchase and maintenance costs
  • • Sporty coupe styling for its era
