The Peugeot 308 is a small family car produced by French automobile manufacturer Peugeot. It was unveiled in June 2007, and launched in September 2007 in hatchback form, which was followed by station wagon in March 2008, coupé cabriolet in February 2009, and a sedan version in February 2010. Performance Verdict
The least powerful engine, struggling with the weight of the SW body, resulting in sluggish acceleration, especially when fully loaded or on inclines.
Fuel Economy
Decent fuel economy for a small petrol engine, but its lack of power means it might need to be worked harder, potentially impacting real-world efficiency.
Best Use Case:
Urban / Light Commuting
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Spacious interior and large boot capacity, ideal for families
- • Comfortable and compliant ride quality, absorbing road imperfections well
- • Economical and refined diesel engines (especially e-HDi variants)
- • Practical and versatile family estate car
Cons:
- • Some petrol engines (THP) had known reliability issues (e.g., timing chain)
- • Older 4-speed automatic gearbox is sluggish and inefficient
- • BMP6 robotized manual gearbox can be unrefined and clunky
- • Interior design, while practical, started to show its age by 2011
