Rebadged variants of the Omega were marketed worldwide, including in North America as the Cadillac Catera, in Great Britain as the Vauxhall Omega, and South America as the Chevrolet Omega. 3.0i V6 (211 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Powerful V6 engine, but the automatic transmission somewhat blunts its acceleration, making it feel less rapid than its power suggests.

Fuel Economy

High fuel consumption, especially in urban conditions, making it the least economical option.

Best Use Case: Luxurious high-speed cruising, executive transport where effortless power is desired over outright acceleration.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Spacious interior and large boot capacity
  • • Comfortable and composed ride quality
  • • Rear-wheel drive platform offers good handling balance
  • • Range of powerful V6 engines available
  • • Good value on the used car market

Cons:

  • • Dated interior design and materials by modern standards
  • • Higher fuel consumption on V6 petrol engines
  • • Some reliability concerns with older models and specific components
  • • Limited safety features compared to contemporary rivals
  • • Large turning circle can make city maneuvering challenging
