The Prairie had a very flexible seating capability and sliding rear doors on both sides of the vehicle, with a liftgate in the back. 2.0 i (98 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

Expect very leisurely acceleration; the automatic transmission further dulls the already modest power, making highway merging challenging.

Fuel Economy

Despite the automatic, fuel consumption remains reasonable for urban driving, though it won't be a standout for efficiency.

Best Use Case: Urban commutes and drivers prioritizing ease of use and comfort over performance, willing to accept slower acceleration.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Spacious and versatile interior with flexible seating arrangements
  • • Practical sliding doors for easy access in tight spaces
  • • Available 4x4 drivetrain enhances capability in varied conditions
  • • Generally reliable engines (especially the 2.4L) for its era
  • • Good visibility from the driver's seat

Cons:

  • • Modest performance, particularly with the 2.0L engine and 4x4/automatic combinations
  • • Dated styling and interior design by modern standards
  • • Limited advanced safety features compared to contemporary vehicles
  • • Fuel economy can be high, especially for 4x4 variants
  • • Soft suspension can lead to noticeable body roll
