1.5 S (M10) (75 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

The 75 Hp 1.5L engine provides basic motivation, best suited for unhurried city driving. Performance will be noticeably sluggish, especially with a full load or on inclines.

Fuel Economy

Likely the most fuel-efficient option in the lineup, though its lower power might lead to drivers working it harder, potentially negating some efficiency gains.

Best Use Case: Primarily city driving and short commutes where outright speed is not a priority.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Innovative 'pillarless' design for easy access and spacious interior.
  • • Excellent visibility due to large glass areas.
  • • Highly versatile and practical interior with flexible seating.
  • • Compact exterior dimensions for urban maneuverability.
  • • Generally reliable mechanicals for its era.

Cons:

  • • Underpowered engines, especially the base 1.5L, leading to sluggish performance.
  • • Lacks modern safety features (airbags, ABS) common in later vehicles.
  • • Basic interior materials and limited creature comforts.
  • • Dated ride and handling characteristics compared to modern minivans.
  • • Potential for rust issues in older models.
