3.3 i V6 (170 Hp) 4WD Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The V6 engine delivers smooth and refined power, though its 170 Hp is merely adequate for the heavy 4WD platform. It's more about effortless cruising than outright speed.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is a significant drawback, especially with the added weight and drag of the 4WD system. Expect higher running costs compared to the diesel.

Best Use Case: Mixed driving conditions, particularly in regions with adverse weather, where the 4WD system provides enhanced traction and stability.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional interior space and versatility for passengers and cargo.
  • • High level of comfort with plush seating and smooth ride quality.
  • • Robust build quality typical of Japanese vehicles of its era.
  • • Distinctive and appealing styling for a minivan.
  • • Good value on the used import market.

Cons:

  • • Fuel economy can be poor, especially with the V6 4WD variant.
  • • Some engine variants (e.g., early ZD30) had known reliability issues.
  • • Lack of modern safety features and no Euro NCAP rating.
  • • Large size can make city maneuvering and parking challenging.
  • • Parts availability can be an issue outside of Japan.
