Mercedes-Benz W108 280 SE (160 Hp) Automatic
Overall Rating
Mercedes-Benz W108:
The Mercedes-Benz W 108 and W 109 are luxury cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1965 through to 1972 to succeed the W 111 and W 112 "fintail" sedans. The cars were successful in West Germany and in export markets including North America and Southeast Asia. During the seven-year run, a total of 383,072 units were manufactured. Some publications mention 383,361 units.

W108 Overview:
Mercedes-Benz W108 (W108). With 240 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. With a weight of 1495 kg, it falls in the mid‑range. Rear‑wheel drive offers dynamic handling and sporty feedback. Acceleration is relatively slow (0–100 km/h in 11.2 s). The top speed reaches 185 km/h. A four-door car with a separate trunk, ideal for families and daily commuting. Seating for 5 makes it ideal for daily use.
The Mercedes-Benz W108 generation predates the establishment of modern crash safety testing organizations like Euro NCAP. While built to high standards for its time, it lacks the advanced safety features and crash performance of contemporary vehicles.
