Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

The 2.7 D (82 Hp) engine offers extremely modest performance, with sluggish acceleration and a low top speed, prioritizing durability and low-end torque for urban taxi duties over outright power.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy of 9.2 l/100 km combined is decent for a heavy, naturally aspirated diesel of its era, especially in urban stop-start conditions, but not competitive with modern diesel efficiency.

Best Use Case: Urban Taxi / Utility / Low-speed Commercial Transport

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional turning circle for urban maneuverability
  • • Robust and durable diesel engine (for its era)
  • • Spacious and accessible passenger compartment
  • • Iconic and recognizable design
  • • Designed for heavy-duty, continuous operation

Cons:

  • • Very poor acceleration and top speed
  • • Basic safety features compared to contemporary passenger cars
  • • High fuel consumption by modern standards
  • • Limited refinement and driving dynamics
