Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The rear-mounted 4.8-liter V8 delivered an impressive 332 HP, providing robust acceleration and significant off-road capability for its time, albeit with a unique weight distribution.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy was undoubtedly poor, typical for a large displacement V8 in a heavy, high-performance off-road prototype from the early 1980s, not a priority in its design.

Best Use Case: Extreme off-road exploration and high-speed desert driving, showcasing engineering prowess rather than daily utility.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional historical significance as a Lamborghini prototype
  • • Powerful 4.8L V8 engine for its time (332 HP)
  • • Unique rear-engine layout concept
  • • Formidable off-road capability
  • • Extreme rarity and collector appeal

Cons:

  • • Very poor fuel economy
  • • Limited comfort and refinement due to prototype nature
  • • Unproven long-term reliability for a prototype
  • • Challenging handling due to rear-engine weight distribution
  • • Not intended for mass production or daily use
