Performance Verdict
Performance is notably modest, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 17 seconds and a top speed of 150 km/h. This engine is designed for utility and off-road torque rather than speed.
Fuel Economy
Fuel economy is poor for its power output, consuming 9.6 l/100 km combined. This reflects an older engine design not optimized for efficiency.
Best Use Case:
Ideal for rural areas, light off-roading, and utility tasks where ruggedness and 4x4 capability are prioritized over speed or fuel efficiency.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Excellent off-road capability due to permanent 4x4 and robust chassis
- • Simple, easy-to-maintain mechanicals
- • Affordable purchase price and running costs (parts)
- • Practical and versatile for utility purposes
Cons:
- • Very poor on-road performance and acceleration
- • High fuel consumption for its power output
- • Basic interior comfort and features
- • Dated design and limited safety technology
- • Refinement levels are low, with significant noise and vibration
