4.1 i V8 32 (269 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

The 4.1L V8 (VH41DE) offers smooth, ample power for comfortable cruising and confident overtaking, though it's not a sports sedan. Acceleration is respectable for its size and era, providing effortless highway performance.

Fuel Economy

As expected for a large V8 from the late 1990s, fuel economy is a significant drawback, especially in urban driving. Highway cruising offers slightly better, but still thirsty, consumption, making it costly to run.

Best Use Case: Highway / Long-distance cruising

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Smooth and powerful V8 engine
  • • Luxurious and comfortable interior
  • • Refined and quiet ride quality
  • • Strong build quality and reliability (if maintained)
  • • Distinctive, understated styling

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy, especially in city driving
  • • Dated technology compared to modern cars
  • • Limited aftermarket support and parts availability
  • • Steering feel can be numb and unengaging
  • • High running costs (fuel, specific parts)
