VT with a 3.8. Had it to around 300,000km and it was super reliable
👍 POSITIVE
SS VF Commodore I bought in 2017. Has been my daily until recently. Up to 150000 Ks and hasn't missed a beat. Even the original battery lasted till 2 years ago. Can't complain about anything with the car. Love it!!
👎 NEGATIVE
Any Holden with the 3.8. Slow, sounds crap, heavy. But damn that thing was good.
👍 POSITIVE
Weirdly it was always the higher KM ones that were most reliable. I had an ex taxi VS exec done 400,000 that gave no trouble and a VS S pack ute with the odo stopped at 503,000 that was also extremely reliable. Both ecotec autos. All the others 1x VP, 1x VQ, 2x VRs, 1 other VS, 1x VX, 2x VY, 3x VZ and VE HSV have all had some problem or another. The VP is still my favorite though.
👍 POSITIVE
My daily is an 01 VU SS ute. Just about to tick over 420,000km

👎 NEGATIVE
They are absolute lemon cars, blowing head gaskets, and electronics. STAY WELL AWAY FROM THEM!

Garbage cars, also avoid Trax and craptivas

Meant that fuel use was higher, and check engine light permanently on. \- Oil gets into the water/coolant and vice versa. Costly to fix, and just happens again a few months later anyway. \- Impossible to re-sell, because everybody knows about them. \- Transmission issues galore, I was a
