GMC Sierra 3500HD:

The Chevrolet Silverado is a range of trucks manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand. Introduced for the 1999 model year, the Silverado is the successor to the long-running Chevrolet C/K model line. Taking its name from the top trim level from the Chevrolet C/K series, the Silverado is offered as a series of full-size pickup trucks, chassis cab trucks, and medium-duty trucks. The fourth generation of the model line was introduced for the 2019 model year.
The Chevrolet Silverado shares mechanical commonality with the identically related GMC Sierra; GMC ended the use of the C/K nomenclature a model generation prior to Chevrolet. In Mexico, high-trim level versions of the Silverado use the Chevrolet Cheyenne name. Competing against the Ford F-Series, Ram pickup, Toyota Tundra, and Nissan Titan, the Silverado is among the best-selling vehicles in the United States, having sold over 12 million trucks since its introduction in 1998 as a 1999 model year....(Read more on Wikipedia)

6.0 V8 (360 Hp) 4WD SRW Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

A capable engine for a single rear wheel setup, offering good all-around performance for a gasoline heavy-duty truck.

Fuel Economy

Fuel efficiency remains a challenge, particularly with 4WD engagement and heavier loads, making it less economical than diesel.

Best Use Case: General construction, farm work, or users needing 4WD capability without the extreme hauling demands of a DRW setup.

After a quick Google search, and now being an official armchair insurance adjuster, I bet someone gets an ass chewing over that choice.
👎 NEGATIVE
As a GM truck owner, even though every module was replaced, that truck won't run the same ever again. If I were the owner, I'd thank you for your work, thank the insurance company (maybe), and get rid of that truck ASAP.

Holy shit. That's actually really cool to have put on your to-do list (imo) because you get to spend so much time on a single project instead of just doing 30 different wheel bearings. Edit: of course this assumes all other things run smoothly—you get your parts deivered on time, adjustors give you a reasonable amount of time, etc.

I'm more curious about the $30 shop supplies.

Being a service advisor those numbers are making me WET.

It's even better when you realize the insurance company has likely been paying for a rental car for more than 2 months...whats that cost?

For reference, KBB.com [values the truck at $42,292 assuming the highest possible trim level and no miles.](https://www.kbb.com/gmc/sierra-1500-crew-cab/2015/denali-pickup-4d-6-1-2-ft/?vehicleid=403146&intent=trade-in-sell&mileage=1000&pricetype=private-party&options=6533706|true&condition=very-good)

I'm a GM salesman. I have well-equipped 2018 Sierras on sale for less than they spent to repair that 2015.
👎 NEGATIVE
My 16 Sierra was in an accident. Damage totaled 48% of value... insurance company wouldn't total until it was 51%. Selling the thing as soon as I can. Been back to the shop 4 times for various things that were either missed, or failed since the repair.

Reminds me of the [2011 Chevy Express that had been struck by lightning](http://imgur.com/gallery/kBTT0).
