The pinnacle of performance for this generation, combining the immense torque of the Duramax with the added traction of 4WD. Unmatched for extreme towing and challenging terrain.

Fuel Economy

Offers the best balance of power and fuel efficiency in its class for heavy-duty applications, though still a large truck. Diesel's efficiency shines under load.

Best Use Case: Extreme heavy-duty towing, off-road work, severe weather conditions, commercial fleets, and any scenario demanding maximum capability.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Robust and durable build quality, designed for heavy work
  • • Spacious Crew Cab interior offers comfort for multiple passengers
  • • Proven powertrain reliability (Duramax and Allison transmission)
  • • Strong resale value for diesel models

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy with gasoline engines, particularly under load
  • • Large size can make maneuvering and parking challenging in urban areas
  • • Ride quality can be stiff when unladen, typical for heavy-duty trucks
  • • Interior materials, while durable, may feel less refined than some competitors
  • • High initial purchase price and maintenance costs for diesel variants
