Ford F-250 Super Duty:

The Ford Super Duty is a series of heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by the Ford Motor Company since the 1999 model year. Slotted above the consumer-oriented Ford F-150, the Super Duty trucks are an expansion of the Ford F-Series range, from F-250 to the F-600. The F-250 through F-450 are offered as pickup trucks, while the F-350 through F-600 are offered as chassis cabs.
Rather than adapting the lighter-duty F-150 truck for heavier use, Super Duty trucks have been designed as a dedicated variant of the Ford F-Series. The heavier-duty chassis components allow for heavier payloads and towing capabilities. With a GVWR over 8,500 lb , Super Duty pickups are Class 2 and 3 trucks, while chassis-cab trucks are offered in Classes 3, 4, 5, and 6. The model line also offers Ford Power Stroke V8 diesel engines as an option....(Read more on Wikipedia)

6.8 V8 (405 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Offers solid, smooth power for general tasks and lighter heavy-duty work, but will feel less potent than its larger V8 or diesel counterparts under maximum load.

Fuel Economy

As a large displacement gasoline V8 in a heavy truck, fuel economy is expected to be poor, especially when towing or hauling.

Best Use Case: General utility, lighter commercial use, daily driving with occasional towing, or for buyers who prefer gasoline over diesel for maintenance simplicity.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional towing and hauling capabilities across all engine options.
  • • Wide range of powerful gasoline and diesel engines to suit diverse needs.
  • • Robust and durable construction, built for demanding work.
  • • Available 4x4 enhances versatility for off-road and adverse conditions.
  • • Spacious Super Cab offers good passenger and cargo flexibility.

Cons:

  • • Poor fuel economy for gasoline engines, even for its class.
  • • Large size can make city driving and parking challenging.
  • • Ride quality can be firm, especially when unladen.
  • • Higher purchase price and running costs, particularly for diesel variants.
  • • Interior, while functional, may lack the refinement of some competitors.
