2.0i 16V (140 Hp) Automatic Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

Adequate for cruising, but sluggish acceleration due to the automatic transmission and the C8's weight.

Fuel Economy

High fuel consumption for its class, especially in urban settings, making it less economical for daily use.

Best Use Case: Primarily highway cruising, less ideal for frequent city stop-and-go traffic due to thirst.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Exceptional interior space and versatility for families
  • • Comfortable ride quality, ideal for long journeys
  • • Good range of efficient diesel engines (HDi)

  • • Strong value proposition in the used market

Cons:

  • • Petrol engines can be very thirsty, especially the V6
  • • Some diesel engines (early FAP) may have DPF maintenance concerns
  • • Performance can be sluggish with lower-powered engines or automatic transmissions
  • • Interior design and materials can feel dated compared to newer rivals
  • • Large dimensions can make city driving and parking challenging
