2.7 TD (92 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 3 stars

Performance Verdict

The 2.7 TD engine provides adequate low-end torque for off-road excursions and utility tasks, but its 92 Hp output results in very sluggish acceleration and limited highway performance. Top speed is low.

Fuel Economy

As an older, large-displacement turbo diesel in a heavy 4x4, fuel economy will be moderate at best, especially when pushed or used in demanding conditions.

Best Use Case: Off-road, Utility, Rural driving, Towing (light duty).

  • • Robust ladder-frame chassis for off-road durability
  • • Affordable purchase price and running costs (potentially)

  • • Spacious interior for passengers and cargo

Cons:

  • • Underpowered engines for highway driving
  • • Dated interior design and materials
  • • Limited safety features compared to contemporaries
