Performance Verdict

A more modest V8 offering, still providing adequate torque for the Regal but with less spirited acceleration, reflecting later emissions regulations.

Fuel economy remains a weak point, with the large displacement V8 consuming significant amounts of fuel despite lower power output.

Best Use Case: Relaxed cruising, buyers prioritizing V8 smoothness over outright power.

  • • Limited safety features by modern standards
  • • Handling is soft and not sporty
  • • Prone to rust in certain areas
  • • Emissions-choked engines in later years reduced power
