Mercury Sable:
The Mercury Sable is a range of automobiles manufactured and marketed by the Mercury brand of Ford Motor Company. Introduced on December 26, 1985, as the replacement for the Mercury Marquis, the Sable marked the transition of the mid-sized Mercury product range to front-wheel drive.
Over its production span, the Sable was Mercury's badge-engineered counterpart to the Ford Taurus, below the Grand Marquis in the Mercury range. From the 1986 to 2005 model years, it was produced as a mid-sized, four-door sedan and five-door station wagon. For 2006, the Sable was replaced by the full-sized Montego and mid-sized Milan. IV (facelift 2004) Overview:
Mercury Sable (IV (facelift 2004)). With 281 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. With a weight of 1494 kg, it falls in the mid‑range. Front‑wheel drive delivers efficiency and easy handling. Performance Verdict
The 201 Hp Duratec V6 offers a noticeable improvement in performance over the Vulcan, providing more confident acceleration and better passing power, making it more enjoyable for highway driving.
Fuel Economy
Despite the increased power, fuel economy remains comparable to the 153 Hp engine, possibly slightly worse under heavy throttle. It's still an older V6 with a 4-speed automatic, so don't expect modern efficiency.
