3.8 V6 GL (155 Hp) Verdict:

Rating 4 stars

Performance Verdict

Offering a slight power bump to 155 Hp, the 3.8L V6 provides marginally better performance, especially noticeable with a full load or on inclines. It maintains the smooth, reliable character expected from a minivan engine.

Fuel Economy

No specific fuel economy data is provided for this trim, but given the larger displacement, it is likely to consume slightly more fuel than the 3.0L V6, particularly in urban settings.

Best Use Case: Highway cruising, long-distance family trips, and situations requiring more torque for heavier loads.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • • Spacious and versatile interior with 7 seats
  • • Comfortable ride quality for long journeys
  • • Reliable V6 engines (Vulcan/Essex) for the era
  • • Good cargo capacity with removable seats
  • • Hydraulic power steering for easy maneuverability

Cons:

  • • Modest acceleration, especially with the 3.0L engine
  • • Fuel economy is average for its class and era
  • • Rear drum brakes might feel dated compared to discs
  • • Lacks modern safety features and ratings (e.g., side airbags)
  • • Some models prone to rust in certain climates
