Citroen Jumpy:
The Citroën Jumpy is a light commercial van jointly developed by FCA Italy and PSA Group , and previously manufactured by Sevel, a joint venture between the two companies formed in 1994. The Jumpy is also sold as the Peugeot Expert, Fiat Scudo, Opel Vivaro, and Toyota ProAce.
All three models were facelifted in March 2004 before being replaced by new, second-generation models in 2007. I Dispatch Overview:
Citroen Jumpy (I Dispatch). With 125 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. With a weight of 1385 kg, it falls in the mid‑range. Front‑wheel drive delivers efficiency and easy handling. Acceleration is relatively slow (0–100 km/h in 16.6 s). The top speed reaches 148 km/h. A spacious vehicle designed to transport passengers comfortably, often with sliding doors. Seating for 5 makes it ideal for daily use.
Performance Verdict
Entry-level petrol, quite underpowered for a van, struggles with heavy loads and highway speeds, best suited for light duties.
Fuel Economy
Relatively high fuel consumption for its modest power output, not the most efficient choice for a commercial vehicle.
Best Use Case:
Light city deliveries, short commutes with minimal cargo, budget-conscious buyers prioritizing initial cost.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Highly versatile with various body styles and seating configurations (up to 9 seats)
- • Excellent fuel economy from HDi diesel engines, ideal for commercial use
- • Spacious and practical interior, offering good cargo or passenger capacity
- • Robust and generally reliable PSA engines, particularly the diesels
- • Compact exterior dimensions for a van, making it maneuverable in urban environments
Cons:
- • Dated safety features and lack of Euro NCAP rating compared to modern vehicles
- • Some entry-level engines (1.6i, 1.9D) are significantly underpowered, especially when loaded
- • Basic interior comfort and aesthetics, typical of a commercial vehicle of its era
- • Potential for rust on older models, particularly around wheel arches and sills
- • Older design and technology may feel outdated to modern drivers
