Citroen Berlingo:
The Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner are a range of minivans produced since 1996 and marketed under the Citroën and Peugeot marque. They are sold as light commercial vehicles or as a passenger multi-purpose-vehicle variant with rear seats and windows. I (Phase II, 2002) Overview:
Citroen Berlingo (I (Phase II, 2002)). With 125 Nm of torque, it offers ample pulling power. It has moderate fuel consumption (~8.8 l/100km). Weighing only 1192 kg, it’s quite light. Front‑wheel drive delivers efficiency and easy handling. Acceleration is relatively slow (0–100 km/h in 20.4 s). The top speed reaches 142 km/h. A spacious vehicle designed to transport passengers comfortably, often with sliding doors. Seating for 5 makes it ideal for daily use.
Performance Verdict
Very basic and sluggish, particularly with any significant load or on inclines. It's a simple, naturally aspirated diesel designed for durability over speed.
Fuel Economy
Disappointing for a diesel, significantly less efficient than the HDi units, reflecting older, less advanced technology.
Best Use Case:
City / Very Light Duty
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- • Exceptional practicality and cargo space for its size
- • Versatile interior configuration for passengers or goods
- • Affordable purchase price and running costs (especially HDi diesels)
- • Good visibility and easy to maneuver in urban environments
- • Robust and durable build quality for its intended purpose
Cons:
- • Basic interior materials and dated design
- • Unrefined ride quality, especially on rough roads
- • Some engines are underpowered or thirsty (e.g., 1.4i, 1.9 D)
- • Limited safety features compared to modern vehicles
- • Can be noisy at higher speeds due to poor insulation
